Review of the Pure Protein Bar
A nutrient-packed, macro-friendly protein bar.
Pure Protein Bar
A value-option, nutrient packed protein bar.
What’s Good About Pure Protein Bars?
The lower the number of carbohydrates in a protein bar, the better they are at their job of being “protein” bars. And yet, a high level of protein can bring the chalky taste of supplements if the bar is not infused with other ingredients properly.
Pure Protein bars successfully navigate both issues; their protein-to-carb ratio is quite high, but the bar still tastes great — the chocolate ones are almost as tasty as a regular chocolate bar.
What Kind of Protein is In Pure Protein Bars?
The Pure Protein bars use a blend of different proteins, but most of them are made up of isolates. That ensures the bar’s goal of reaching almost 90% of pure protein content — for comparison, concentrates only have about 80%. The price of the bar is kept low by the use of whey protein and milk protein isolates, in a combo with some whey protein concentrate.
Do Pure Protein Bars Have Sugar And/Or Fat?
While every protein bar contains small amounts of fat and sugar, Pure Protein has kept its content quite low at 4 grams per bar at most. Most of this content is from the carbs contained by the chocolate coating and the different dairy products used in the making of the bar.
The bars also contain a couple of grams of fat contained in the nut derivatives used for the bar — such as almond butter. They’re also found in the oils that the bar contains, like peanut, canola, and palm kernel.
How Many Flavors Do Pure Protein Bars Have?
While Chocolate Peanut Butter is the most popular protein bar made by Pure Protein, their bars come in many other different flavors, such as the:
- Birthday Cake Bar
- Chewy Chocolate Chip Bar
- Chocolate Deluxe Bar
- Chocolate Peanut Caramel Bar
- Chocolate Salted Caramel Bar
- Cookies and Cream Bar

All of the bars come in 50g portions.
